The goal was to create a very special video, showcasing a glimpse of what the male perspective looks like going through the motions while seeking forgiveness.

"Evergreen" is a true story, in addition to the closing part of the album. For years, I’ve been a man who was a narcissist. I would always omit situations, in efforts to be a good guy sparing feelings, when in essence I was doing the complete opposite. Balancing situationships with women stemmed from wanting a degree of exchange/energy for my given mood/energy at the time — which led to all things problematic. I found myself in 2019 balancing multiple situations, in addition to being in a bit of an open relationship with my heart invested, but time & energy being all over the place. The relationship ended, and my hopeless romantic self ended up falling for my current, while being checked out of my previous.

This led to a series of inconsistencies, with me hiding my relationship in efforts to people-please, which led to me hitting the internal crossroad — do I wanna block the blessing of love like I always have due to things in my past or finally move proper? How could one see blessings in my career if I’m blocking the ones I’m already receiving?

Everything came to surface in the process of coming clean, which led to her staying with me past my mistakes. I began a self-care journey, and for the first time, went to therapy & began to heal. This album served as a healing process for me, given it being my first time putting everything on the table for fans, similar to the new trend I started in my personal life. “Evergreen” served as not only an apology, but my first true moment of 100% accountability. Even past this, the beauty in a dope relationship is the transparency that can exist when you put it all on the table. I’m happy in knowing that I lead with that approach in my life as a man, partner, son, brother, and friend. I hope you appreciate the vulnerability for exactly what it is.
