MOM of two, Alex Athienitou, from London, England, lost over 100lbs in a year. The busy mom struggled with comfort eating and yo-yo dieting for many years, before deciding that she had to change her lifestyle. Alex chose to have weight loss surgery to help her with portion control. Despite the judgement she has received, Alex told Truly: “Some people say that surgery is the easy way out, but it’s categorically not. It saved my life!” Alex has maintained her weight loss through a combination of healthy eating and exercise. She now enjoys working out and living an active lifestyle. She said: “I hope that me speaking about how I chose to lose weight could help others on their weight loss journey. Everyone’s journey is totally different.”
