Описание:
In folklore, death was rarely sudden. And almost never silent.
This chapter looks at the signs believed to appear before a death- the warnings, omens, and figures said to walk ahead of the end.
We’ll talk about:
the Banshee- also known as the Bean Nighe / Bean Sìth
death-walkers seen on familiar roads
the fetch, a living double
animals behaving “wrong”
lights, knocks, dreams, and other quiet signals
These stories weren’t about monsters. They were about noticing when something had shifted.
I hope you had a gentle holiday season, and that the new year arrived kindly for you.
Thank you for spending time with me in The Wee Dark Library.
🕯️ Next time, we’ll step into the night itself, and look at the figures believed to sit on the chest, steal the breath, and visit when the body cannot move.
