Welcome to the video!
This mixed media DIY project is part of a miniature Wildflower Series, Episode 17 making 1:12 scale fuchsias using copy paper, floral wire, polypropylene filament & artificial craft flower stamen/pistil pieces.
No clay or resin used in this project but this could be another option. Different size flowers for larger or smaller scales can be made using the same process adjusting sizes.
This fuchsia plant measures approximately - 1/2” diameter & 1/4” height in four hybrid designs as shown in video.
Each plant took about twenty minutes or so to make. Adult assistance is needed for younger persons.
I was inspired to make the fuchsias because they are hummingbird food flowers.
There are a number of wild growing fuchsia shrub plants with many varieties are from Central & South America locations.
Suggested materials & supplies list:
[1] copy paper or multipurpose paper - white, greens, pinks, reds, purples - or use white paper and paint color on both sides, let dry
[2] paper punches - round petal shapes with long eight parts in 3/8” diameter, round petal shapes with short six parts in 5/16 & 1/4”, sunburst 5/16”, round petal with six parts 9/16” or similar (you may also hand cut the shapes)
floral wire - for stems, 24 gauge
[3] color pencils - white, pink, green
[4] glue - PVA clear drying or similar
[5] wire - floral, for stems 26 gauge or so, painted green
[6] toothpicks
[7] scissors & small wire cutter
[8] tweezers
[9] small clamps or clothespins
