On the very day the elections were announced, there was a major reshuffle at the state administrative level. Shortly after the schedule was declared in the afternoon, the Election Commission ordered the transfer of two top officials. Dushmanta Nariyala was appointed as the Chief Secretary, replacing Nandini Chakraborty. Sanghamitra Ghosh was appointed as the Home Secretary in place of Jagdish Prasad Meena. After submitting the compliance report at noon, a meeting with the Election Commission is scheduled for today itself.
