I had zero experience with computer vision, 36 hours on the clock, and way too much confidence.
So naturally, I tried building a live ASL translator using hand tracking, neural networks, and sheer panic; all for a hackathon I really wanted to win.
This video is the story of learning computer vision from scratch, fighting broken dependencies at 5am, deploying a machine learning model in the browser, and realizing a little too late that maybe winning isn’t the point.
