Take This Waltz, celebrating the music of Leonard Cohen

Описание: “Take this Waltz” is an operatic and contemporary dance performance, inspired by the music of the Canadian legend Leonard Cohen.

In “Take this Waltz” Daniel Okulitch, one of Canada’s most celebrated operatic voices, is joined onstage by a classical chamber ensemble composed of Violin/Viola, Cello, and Accordion; along with, dancer/musician Ted Littlemore, an artist of many talents who plays the accordion while dancing.

“Take this Waltz” aims to broaden the idea of how vocalism, contemporary dance, instrumentation, and the visual arts can be applied to well-established works, without diluting their unique qualities.
"Take this Waltz" received its world premiere on September 10th, 2022 as a co-presentation between Vancouver Opera, Pacific Opera Victoria and Chutzpah! Festival.
