Once upon a time, a Fox and a Crane became good friends.

One day, the Fox decided to invite the Crane over for a meal. She prepared some semolina porridge, but being sly, she served it on a flat plate. The poor Crane tried to peck at it but couldn’t eat even a single bite.

In return, the Crane invited the Fox to his home. He prepared a cold soup and poured it into a tall jug with a narrow neck. What goes around, comes around! And just like that, their friendship came to an end.
A Clever Tale – The Fox and the Crane

The Fox and the Crane had become friends.

One day, the Fox decided to treat the Crane to a meal. She went to invite him:
— Come, dear friend, come over! I will serve you a feast!

The Crane happily accepted the invitation and arrived for dinner. The Fox cooked semolina porridge and spread it thinly on a plate. She placed it before him and encouraged him to eat:
— Enjoy, my dear friend, I made it myself!

The Crane tapped the plate with his beak, pecked and pecked—but he couldn’t pick up a single bite! Meanwhile, the Fox licked up every last bit of the porridge until there was nothing left.

After finishing her meal, the Fox said:
— Don’t be upset, my friend! I have nothing else to offer.

The Crane politely replied:
— Thank you, dear Fox, for your kindness! Now, why don’t you visit me tomorrow?

The next day, the Fox arrived at the Crane’s house. The Crane had made a delicious cold soup and poured it into a jug with a long, narrow neck. He placed it on the table and said:
— Help yourself, dear Fox! I’m afraid I have nothing else to serve.

The Fox circled the jug, sniffing it, licking it, trying to reach inside—but her snout wouldn’t fit! Meanwhile, the Crane happily dipped his beak inside and ate until he was full.

When he was done, the Crane said:
— Don’t be upset, dear Fox! I have nothing more to offer.

The Fox felt frustrated. She had expected to have a feast that would last her a whole week, but instead, she left hungry. What goes around, comes around!

And from that day forward, the Fox and the Crane were no longer friends.
