Here's an edition of PM Magazine (not really focused on Chicago anymore like the earlier incarnation with Mike Leiderman was) on WFLD Channel 32 which features a look at the 20th anniversary of the point The Beatles took off on our shores. Susan Boller and Dave Saint host from Naper Settlement in Naperville, IL.
But first...
Illinois State Lottery's Daily Game and Pick 4 drawings (voiceover by Jim Barton), supervised by Marv Gordon of Laventhol & Horwath; after the machines are set (spoiler alert), the numbers 7-0-7 turn up for the Daily Game, and 8-4-3-3 for Pick 4 (There's that background music. You can also hear it in a 1984 Lincoln Tech commercial. It's called "Power Generator" and is part of the Network Production Library of music. You can find it on an album of theirs called "Corporate Class"). (this Lottery drawing posted separately here: • [broken] WFLD Channel 32 - Illinois Lotter... )
Show open with preview of coming edition, followed by hosts previewing look inside fort (where settlers were protected during 1832 Blackhawk Indian War) and around Naper, followed by:
"Beach Ball for Bucks" - a look at pro beach volleyball games in Manhattan Beach, CA; professional players Tim Hovland and Mike Dodd are spotlighted

Commercials for:
Dominick's - sale on country style sliced bacon - good through October 31st (voiceover by Lloyd Hanson)

Susan inside building where clothes are made just as in the 1830's, before segueing to:
"20 Years of Beatlemania" - report on the 20th anniversary of the Fab Four making it in America by Liz Miles, going inside a Pittsburgh convention which spotlights prices of Beatles memorabilia and Beatle impersonators (including a lookalike band, "1964") - and 74-year-old Tony Saks, billed as the oldest Beatlemaniac; plus a look outside the Civic Arena where they performed in 1964
Susan and Dave preview look at Ben Vereen spotlighting future stars, and other coming segments, for next week's show

Susan at kitchen of Murray house, leading to:
"Cruisin' 50's Style" - a look at Sycamore Drive-In Restaurant in Bethel, CT (owned at the time by Rich Melvin and counter run by wife Lucy), and Saturday nights when '50's cars - and the ethos thereof - are prevalent (begun three years before by car buff Dino Laurence (sp?) and partner Dave DuFraine (sp?) ) (some parts of the music in this report, "Scuttle Buttin' by Stevie Ray Vaughan, had to be muted to avoid YouTube blocking)
