Описание: During the last few months, I have been obsessively playing around with a repeating ascending scale, building a structure around it and always wanting to dismantle it. I came to the realisation that this bass line is that of a Passacaglia — known as a courtly dance for nobles, yet rooted in vivacious Renaissance street music (pasar por la calle in Spanish means to walk through the street). This is my attempt to take this form apart and reimagine it. My folk instrument helps me reconnect with its popular origins, and the electronic element reclaims that voice by fracturing and colliding it, by screaming and pushing back against power, before it finally dissolves.
