The Viper Truck! GCD Shoom Ram SRT-10 1:64 Diecast Review feat. Spectraflame Chrome

Описание: Before Dodge decided to put a Hellcat in all their vehicles, they created the world's fastest truck with the V10 powered 2004-2006 Dodge Ram SRT-10. This took their already aggressive Dodge Ram and added the Dodge Viper’s 8.0 V10 along with other performance and styling upgrades. In this video we'll look at the 1:64 scale diecast replica of the Viper truck created by GCD’s new Shoom brand. We have the special edition blue chrome version here which was an exclusive for the 2025 APA Expo held in China which is limited to 1288 pieces. Retail price for the APA Expo version is $49.99 while the standard version with enamel paint is $29.99. The standard version is available in all black or a white with blue stripe color option.

The model has a full metal construction with metal body and metal base. Rubber wheels with individual wheel bearings let the wheels roll smooth and fast like a Hotwheels car. Despite the popularity of Dodge Vipers, there doesn’t appear to be many 1:64 SRT-10 models aside from a 2005 Matchbox version. That’s why we are really happy to see GCD spin up the new Shoom brand to fill that void with this highly detailed model of the single cab SRT-10 truck. This limited edition features a beautiful Spectraflame like blue chrome finish that looks nearly perfect and could easily be a Hotwheels RLC (Red Line Club) model.

Note that the stripes on the real truck would have gone down the front bumper while GCD has gone with a different design that starts at the hood. Also there are no opening parts, which means you can not see the Viper engine that makes this truck so special. However, GCD does include a removable plastic tonneau cover with a spoiler and a separate standalone spoiler. Both pieces are plastic and have small pins that insert into the body. The paint match is excellent, but the tonneau cover doesn’t quite sit completely flat and leaves one side slightly tilted upward.

Starting front, you can see the more aggressive design of the SRT-10 which has a lower sporty bumper and large intake in the hood. The bottom grill has two tiny fog lights and a black center grill that seems to be a separate piece. Even the main grill has the same horizontal slat design as the real truck and Ram hood ornament. The front lights are lenses with excellent separation between the two beams and orange coloring for the turn signals. With this special edition, there are special aftermarket chrome style that I personally don’t like. They have a deep dish appearance with brake rotors and red calipers behind them, but look basic with minimal detail. Given the amount of detail on the truck, it is surprising that the faces of the wheels are so flat.

On the sides have have a compact single cab design with a standard bed, side mirrors and door handles. There are even RAM SRT-10 side badges that look accurate despite the size. The bed of the truck is not a separate piece, like you would see on Greenlight models, but has a false parting line. On the rear of the car you have great looking red taillights with reverse markets at the bottom.
The stripe doesn’t extend down into the bumper but just ends at the tailgate with an accurate black handle and additional badging. There are even small details like the black license plate light housings which you wouldn’t even notice normally. A dual shiny exhaust comes out the side and is slightly tilted on our model but has great definition with hollowed out centers.

It is difficult to see inside the car but there are actually white gauges and SRT-10 badging on the seats which matches the real truck. Otherwise the SRT-10 trucks have the same basic interiors with all the plastic American cars are known for for this era. I also wanted to point out that there is something a bit odd about the side windows, they seem slightly too thick compared to other diecast cars and look odd at some angles. Overall, the Shoom model is very impressive with intricate detailing and a shiny chrome finish that is easy to mistake for a Spectraflame Hotwheels car. For the price we would have liked to see an opening hood, but it's still a model we'd highly recommend.
