Something as “simple” as adding a coal mine to the layout might not be quite as simple as you think. How’s it going to work? How does the coal get to the power station? Let’s have a look!
I know a good number of you will be screaming “Use a runaround!” And I will, but the principle of how the layout operates is still the same. A good runaround properly placed would allow longer trains too. The layout really does operate as a series of smaller layouts that interact and this would be just one more example of that trend. The Underground branch, the EMUs shuttling between the branch and the big station and the Night Mail doing its thing. Lovely! Lots of outstanding projects - little time to accomplish many of them. Time is the thing that I need most isn’t it?
