Ron Halvorsen grew up in New York where in his teenage years he joined one of the most notorious gangs in New York and was involved in all sorts of crimes as a gang member. It was while he was deeply involved in this gang that an incident leads him to seek the Lord.

He later describes how he was on fire for God that he went into the dangerous neighborhoods of New York to preach and testify about the Lord. He continued to do this even after he became a clergyman and has led many people that some would consider hopeless to the Lord.

Ron Halvorsen Sr., a New York gang member who gave his heart to Jesus at age 17 and became a Seventh-day Adventist evangelist who led thousands of people to baptism. On May 15, 2015, in Apopka, Florida, Ron Halvorsen passed away at the age of 76.
