I don’t have land, but I’m still homesteading.
This is what apartment homesteading looks like — from a balcony garden to simple, from-scratch food.
In this vlog, I’m sharing what homesteading looks like without land — from my apartment balcony garden to my kitchen, where I’m learning to slow down and live more intentionally.
I don’t live on acreage. I don’t have a backyard or a farmhouse. What I do have is a small balcony, a few containers, and a growing desire to reconnect with my food, my space, and my faith. In this video, I’m harvesting from my balcony garden, making sourdough crackers from discard, and pickling eggs — simple rhythms that have become grounding practices in my everyday life.
Apartment homesteading isn’t about doing everything perfectly or producing enough to be impressive. For me, it’s about learning old skills in a modern space, reducing waste, and choosing slow living even when life feels busy. It’s about using what I have, starting small, and trusting that small steps still matter.
This vlog is a gentle introduction to my Apartment Homesteading series, where I’ll be sharing how I grow food in containers, cook from scratch in a small kitchen, and build sustainable, faith-centered rhythms while living in an apartment.
