Shipping Container Sea Can Workshop Part 2

Описание: Part 2 of the workshop project.
The current plan is for the right hand container to house machine tools that need conditioned space and for the left hand one to be dry storage for materials. The next step after this will be the porch to access them with stairs and possibly an elevator. I have several options for both and I'm not sure how it's going to play out.
With some big work commitments for the rest of the year phase three won't happen right away but sometimes its better to just let projects develop as they go.


Some info about the portal connection;

-The cross section of the blocks are 24"x24" (60x60cm)and the length is 144" (3.65m).
The block that is used as a header is 7200#+/ of reinforced concrete
-The steel angles underneath the horizontal header are 8"x4"x3/4"x24" long or 800x400x19mmx600
Each angle has 3 7/8"x6"(22x150mm) bolts into the concrete with considerate and fair spacing.
-The rough shear of EACH bolt is 201kn or 45,000# each.
-The tie plates at the back behave as collar ties to keep the posts from spreading, if it can't go out, it can't go down. The next video will see me adding them to the front as well. They simply weren't made yet for this video.
-The outside of each container bears directly on each post and the containers are welded together at the top and bottom creating a truss across the face. Again, if it can't go out, it can't go down. The amount of weight that is not present at the center I think is what would surprise people. Not that there's none but what is there and what I intend to add there really won't even register on the scale of what could be there.
