Setting a new record for any work by Tiffany Studios, ‘The Danner Memorial Window’ sold for $12.5 million after six minutes of spirited bidding. The first Tiffany Studios work ever to appear in a major evening auction, it nearly doubled its high estimate.
Designed by Agnes Northrop, a pioneering female artist in the field, ‘The Danner Memorial Window’ showcases Tiffany Studios at their finest. Standing 16 feet tall, the piece is alive with vibrant, fruit-laden trees and a glowing sunset sky, where color and light merge to create a painterly, illusionistic effect.
