DIY Garage Paint Booth | FZR1000 Restoration - EP12

Описание: Like everything else I do, there was plenty of overthinking involved with this project. I've seen a number of DIY paint booth ideas and I was going to build a folding one (off the sides of the walls of the garage) but I decided on this approach.

The booth/party tent was $200, the lights were $60, and all other incidentals were around another $100. The paint gun is new and with the 3M PPS 2.0 paint system, that was another $200. The paint itself was around $300.

The great thing about this is that it worked really well, was great at keeping the dust nibs off the parts and the overspray under control. And it's reusable.

As for the Yamaha Paint Codes, I couldn't find any shop that could mix up the OEM Yamaha codes. The OEM Yamaha colours are Silky White (SW/00GE), Yamaha Atlantic Blue (ABL/00UY) and Vivid Red (VR/320). My paint shop was able to scan my panels (spots with the least amount of UV damage) and come up with colors that are very close to the original. Since I'm not trying to match or blend, and the original paint would have faded anyway, it will be fine for this type of restoration. Also, I kept the codes the paint shop made for me in the event I have to do ay repairs in the future, I'll be able to match my bike perfectly.
