Ocean Shores is fast becoming one of the most sought-after areas for people to relocate to and the locals can understand why. It has the best of both worlds for people looking for a sea change but who still want access to the facilities that they enjoy.
At just 28 minutes to Kingscliff and around 20 minutes to Byron Bay, Ocean Shores and its adjacent suburbs offer the best of the north coast. Locals and visitors alike enjoy easy access to the stunning beaches of nearby South Golden Beach, New Brighton, and Brunswick Heads to the south.
Originally, our entire region was inhabited by the Bundjalung people; primarily, the Midjumbil and Durumbil clans. In fact, evidence can be found of the original inhabitants even today in the form of Aboriginal middens along the banks of Marshalls Creek.
The most captivating feature of Ocean Shores and surrounding suburbs is the year-round warm climate, the friendly locals and, of course, the gorgeous beaches. Importantly, dog lovers are catered to, with off-leash dog exercise areas at South Golden Beach and New Brighton Beach, as well as south of Brunswick Surf Life Saving Club.
