Описание: Welcome to a masterclass on cutting grass extremely short – how low can grass be cut. Today we are at Donaghadee Golf Club with course manager James Devoy, getting some expert tips and tricks on how to cut lawns short.
The greens at Donaghadee are cut at 3mm over the summer and this is achieved as they cut with high precision cylinder mowers.

The greens at Donaghadee golf course are mainly Bentgrass and Annual Meadow Grass / AMG (Poa annua), James talks through some of the things they do to manage the AMG, from brushing the grass to verti cutting the greens, this is all very important to keep the grass healthy while cutting at these extreme heights.



James explains how to set up the units on the Toro triplex triflex 3420 greens mower, including using an Accu-gage to set the height of cut. And how to set the quality of cut with a bit of paper on the cylinder mower.

This video came about as I am always getting asked about what height to cut a lawn at. That really depends on what you are cutting it with, what types of grass are in the lawn already and the tools that you are using.
