On this Dash for Adventure trip, we head into the woods of North Carolina with one goal — hunting trolls.
Before they disappear from the East Coast and travel to California in February, we visit the North Carolina Arboretum to track down a rare traveling troll installation. These trolls are different from what most people expect. Instead of towering 20–30 feet tall, these forest guardians stand just 7 to 9 feet, making them more hidden, more personal, and a lot more fun to find.
We search the trails, follow clues, and successfully locate 12 individual trolls, adding each one to our growing troll map and increasing our total number of trolls found across the United States. Every find adds another pin to the map and another chapter to the adventure.
This isn’t a scavenger hunt — it’s exploration, curiosity, and storytelling woven into the landscape before these trolls move on to their next home.
