Volkswagen is getting Cross. In fact, ID.Cross, which is its new all electric replacement for the T-Cross. Although this is still a show car officially, it is said to be 80% reality, and the final version is set to go head to head with cars like the Ford Puma and MINI Aceman when it’s launched in mid 2026. And it has plants growing in it. No really.

As you might have guessed, the ID part means it is part of the VW electric car family, and the Cross means it is the replacement for the existing T-Cross. If you’re not familiar with that car, it’s sort of a jacked up, SUV-like Polo.

Although the car in the video is called a concept, it is pretty close to what you will see in your local VW showroom in the late summer of 2026. Maybe take the wheels down an inch or two and you’ll be pretty much there.
