A police officer was punched in the face as protests outside hotels housing asylum seekers continued on Sunday, the Metropolitan Police said.

The Met said there were four arrests after protests near the Britannia Hotel in Canary Wharf, east London, which is housing asylum seekers. Alleged offences included assault, possession of drugs, public order offences and failure to disperse.
The unrest follows a renewed wave of protests after the Court of Appeal lifted a temporary injunction banning the Bell Hotel in Epping, Essex, from housing asylum seekers after September 12.
