Shaky footage shows the officer running behind the alleged 15-year-old thief (right) and chasing him past the yellow-lined platform. The incident appears to have happened at the Wilson Avenue station in Brooklyn. They rush down the stairs and into to the station lobby, where commuters pause in awe of the dizzying scene. At one point, the officer hops the turnstile and lands on his hands in an effort to keep up with the darting suspect. Violent crime has continued to escalate in New York City , with assaults climbing 18.5 percent and robberies up six percent in September.
