Punjab praises AAP Government’s anti-dr*g scheme

Описание: The Punjab Government’s anti-drug campaign, launched on March 1 last year under the banner ‘War Against Drugs,’ has completed one year, claiming unprecedented success. According to official figures, more than 34,000 FIRs have been registered and over 45,000 arrests have been made during the drive.
Out of the 3,000 kg of her*in seized across India in the past year, nearly 2,000 kg, around 66%, was reportedly recovered in Punjab alone. The campaign has also seen active involvement of Village Defence Committees (VDCs), whose members have provided over 1,200 tips leading to multiple arrests.
Authorities have demolished palatial houses allegedly built with dr*g money, seized properties of traffickers, and frozen bank accounts linked to illegal earnings. The government maintains that the crackdown has sent a strong message to dr*g smugglers and strengthened public confidence.
As the campaign marks one year, key questions remain, whether real change is visible on the ground, whether VDCs have emerged as a strong grassroots force against dr*gs, and whether strict enforcement combined with public awareness can make Punjab completely dr*g-free in the coming years.
