Les infrastructures et le réseau ferré de la région nord ont été entièrement dévastés pendant la 2e guerre mondiale. Face à l'immense tâche de reconstruction, les cheminots ont tout mis en oeuvre avec courage et acharnement pour rétablir au plus vite le trafic, et plus particulièrement l'acheminement du charbon qui fait cruellement défaut à la fin de la guerre.
The infrastructure and the railway network of the northern region were completely devastated during the Second World War. Faced with the enormous task of reconstruction, the railwaymen have done everything with courage and determination to reestablish as quickly as possible the traffic, and especially the delivery of coal which is sorely lacking at the end of the war.
