Great fun! This is a somewhat boring and nerdy half hour uncut clip displaying my back. It takes me 12 minutes to get seated and paddle out 500m! Have I sold it well enough yet?
On a southwesterly wind it seems old and new wind waves were joining this day. Not terrific for surfing but fun as always. As much as I hate to admit it being a Greenland kayak affecionado, a car trip upwind and a surfski would have been a better toy :)
The bay has treacherous rocks strewn all over the place so a helmet is advised. I tie the tuilik paddle jacket's hood string around the neck so it is somewhat water tight. The jacket is also a decent floating device.
The official weather observations were 12-18 m/s but I would say it was mostly like 10 m/s average. For wave height in this choppyness it's hard to say but 1-1,5m max is my guess. The forecast said 3m out to sea and if I had the stamina I would go against the wind and waves to greet it :)
