Hi there, fellow homebodies! In celebration of Thanksgiving this week, I am making Thanksgiving inspired cake pops styled as turkeys and pumpkins! These are cute treats to share with loved ones and at gatherings, and fun to work on as a family too.
Steps:
1. Use any cake recipe you'd like, whether it be from scratch or an off the shelf cake mix.
2. Use any frosting recipe you'd like, same thing either store bought and ready to use or from scratch.
3. Separate portion of cooled cake and crumble with fork or spatula until crumb consistency.
4. Mix cake crumbs with frosting until it reaches a dough-like consistency that holds its shape together easily without falling apart or being too sticky.
5. Shape the cake-frosting mixture into balls - try using a cookie scoop or weighing them to try keeping the size consistent.
6. Once the cake pop has its shape, melt chocolate or candy melts and dip one end of the popsicle sticks into the melted chocolate, then insert into the cake pop - this will help ensure the cake is safely attached to the pop!
7. Dip in whatever chocolate or candy melt you want and decorate as desired. Enjoy!
