A recent example is the alleged ₹100-crore land encroachment case involving former TTD Chairman and ex-Tirupati MLA Bhoomana Karunakar Reddy. Despite a Vigilance report reportedly confirming the encroachments nearly six months ago, no significant action has been taken by the Revenue Department, raising questions about administrative inaction. According to the Vigilance findings, Bhoomana allegedly encroached around 7.30 acres of government land in Mangalam village, Tirupati Urban Mandal, valued at over ₹50 crore. The report also claims that nearly 9 acres of Inam land worth approximately ₹45 crore in the Tiruchanur Panchayat limits were illegally occupied. The investigation further alleges that private landowners were intimidated, leading to the illegal acquisition of 3.07 acres of private land. In addition, encroachments reportedly include tank poramboke land, temple properties belonging to Dharmarajula Draupadamma, Moolasthanamma, and Nagalamma temples, and even an 18-foot public road used by local residents. The Vigilance Department is said to have recommended that the Revenue Department immediately reclaim the encroached lands, using police assistance if necessary. However, despite the report being submitted months ago, no visible action has reportedly been taken, leading to criticism and public questions over whether officials are deliberately delaying the process.
