US Defence Secretary says Tuesday to be ‘most intense day of strikes’ on Iran

Описание: At a Pentagon press briefing on Tuesday, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine provided an update on Operation Epic Fury against Iran, now in its 11th day.
Hegseth declared the US and Israel are "winning decisively" with an "unrelenting focus" on three objectives: destroying Iran's missile stockpiles and launchers, annihilating its navy, and permanently denying it nuclear weapons.
He said today would be the "most intense day of strikes yet" as forces move deeper into Iranian territory, adding that Iran is "badly losing" and its missile and drone attacks have dropped significantly—ballistic missiles down 90 percent and drones down 83 percent since the operation began.
General Caine confirmed over 5,000 targets have been struck, including missile launchers, drone facilities, command centres, and more than 50 Iranian naval vessels sunk.
Hegseth stressed the campaign is "not endless" with "no nation building," aiming to reassure Americans worried about mission creep, and confirmed the timeline will be determined by President Trump.
He refused to comment on reports Iran's new leader has been wounded but warned Tehran against blocking the Strait of Hormuz, echoing Trump's threat of "death, fire and fury."
The briefing also honoured six fallen US service members.
