EDACCAL means " A STONE IN BETWEEN" It is on AMBUKUTTY MALA HILLS which is at a distance of 25 kms from VAYANADU Bus facility can be used utilising the service of transport from vayanadu to ambalavayal. As per legend this place has a link with HINDU ITHIHAS RAMAYANA.LAVA & KUSA ,son of GOD SRI MAMA used their arrow & broke the stone into two & thus formed the narrow passage .The specialities of EDACCAL caves are,they are natural caves & is famous for it's mistic rock formation & ancient drawings & engravings on rock. On climbing 300 steps top is reached & from there we enter into below the HALL between the rocks & the top connecting rock just like a hall. On the stone walls we see ancient drawings & engravings. From the top a scenic view of the surrounding forest is received . Altogether a visit to this mystic area is a good experience
