The City of San José presented a commendation that honors The Trash Punx and Sabore’s Well for their Project Pick Up initiative in Ewaso Ngiro, Kenya. Led locally by Sabore Ole Oyie, the project mobilized residents, removed over 31,500 pounds of trash, and launched an up-cycling center that creates jobs and turns waste into usable products.
The City of San José recognized Sabore Ole Oyie for his leadership and for strengthening the connection between San José and Kenya, rooted in community and sustainability.
