Canadian NDP Member of Parliament Charlie Angus went to Brussels to speak at the NATO parliamentary meetings on behalf of Canada. He said he was going over the boards in response to their message that Canada needed to "pull it's weight", and he reminded them in no small fashion that Canada, over the years, has been there over and over again for the world when we were needed.

His final words to a stunned assembly were "So don't let anyone in this room ever accuse Canadians of not being there when it's time to defend freedom from fascism."
