The ₹4,727 crore Pune Riverfront Development Project promises promenades and gardens inspired by Ahmedabad’s Sabarmati model. Yet, environmental experts warn it’s more about concretisation than preservation. The concerns: narrowing the rivers, cutting 22,000+ trees, and increasing flood risks.
