It is with great sadness that I post this video. It was a really hard one to make and edit. I have received some flak for even making it. I feel it's important to show as it's a part of history. This video is my attempt at showing some of the after math of the fires. It is part of my Casey Neistat 1 month video making course. It was all filmed in two days which adds a challenge. Hopefully it doesn't come off as disrespectful.
For those who don't know, on December 30th a massive fire started in south unincorporated Boulder County (basically south Boulder). The winds were sustained most of the day around 60mph and gusts up up to 110mph. It had not rained or snowed in at least a month. This caused a horrible situation where once one property caught fire it would them become a flame-thrower. Perpetuating the cycle. Some people didn't even get a notice of the fire. Some only had mins or seconds to evacuate before their home caught on fire. It is a tragic event for the entire community.
My heart goes out to all those affected. Seeing the devastation in person is saddening to say the least.
There is still a lot to do to help people sift through the ashes and rebuild.
