The term cue ball control can be a little misleading, especially for beginners and advanced beginners. Most definitions say something like:

“Cue ball control is the ability to direct the cue ball’s speed, spin, and path after striking the object ball so that it finishes in a desired position for the next shot.”

That sounds like you can place the cue ball anywhere you want, but that’s not the full story. Even the best players in the world — yes, even Efren Reyes — are still working within the laws of physics.
