ABAP Tutorial: How to Create Your First Application Log (SLG1/SLGD)

Описание: Learn how you can create an application log in ABAP. The application log will be visible in the transaction SLG1 or SLGD and can be analyzed. Within this video I will explain you in detail the technical background for being able to start creating your first application log in ABAP on your own.

Once you have defined your object in transaction SLG0, you can write messages to the application log in the ABAP program. Special function modules are available for this purpose.

BAL_LOG_CREATE
This creates the log with header data (e.g. user and program name).
BAL_LOG_MSG_ADD:
Inserts messages into the log.
BAL_LOG_MSG_ADD_FREE_TEXT:
Inserts plain text into the log.
BAL_DB_SAVE:
Saves the log permanently in the database.
BAL_DSP_LOG_DISPLAY: Displays the log in memory.
Displays the log in memory.
