Finally, a trip west to the 10 mph limits of the Kapuskasing sub. Chasing trains on this stretch requires crazy amounts of patience, waiting for hours on end is frequent. The track is in horrible shape and will only get worse.
But, the trip was completely worth it thanks to the great crews who put on brilliant horn displays and friendliness as well as some epic power. Let me explain these moves.
First, we catch freight 313 at Jaksonboro, mile 26. It takes 2 hours to get here by train.
An hour later, 313 rolls through Fauquier.
We now drive west of Kap. to meet up with 516. After this scene, the trains exchange freight and lift loads from Kap.
We chase 515 west of Kap. and then return east to complete our chase by catching 1603 in the lead twice.
