Taiwan railway unveils five-star moving restaurant

Taiwan Railways Administration launched Future Express, its first luxury train, earlier this year. The seven-car train, called "the moving five-star restaurant" will take 54 passengers on either a one-day trip to Hualien or two-day trip to Taitung, along Taiwan’s east coast, with gourmet food featured during the journey. On the Hualien trip, passengers receive a five-course set meal prepared by the Silks Hotel Group, and on the Taitung trip, they will get two five-course set meals, several excursions on arrival and an overnight stay at a local hotel. Tours from March to June were sold out 15 minutes after they went on sale. Tours from July to September are also offered. Take a look at the plan to upgrade the image of Taiwan’s train travel and encourage domestic and international travelers to get onboard.
