On March 8, 2024, the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi was adorned with vibrant colors as devotees gathered in thousands to celebrate Maha-Shivaratri, a revered occasion in the Hindu calendar dedicated to honoring Lord Shiva. This was the first Hindu festival celebrated after the Mandir's inauguration.
The festivities began and concluded with prayers for the UAE and its generosity. There was a deep feeling of gratitude towards the leadership on every face and in every heart as thousands of devotees patiently lined up at the Mandir gates. From the early hours of the morning till late evening, all were eager to offer their reverence throughout the day. Amidst the crowds of people, there was great joy and serenity, as devotees found solace and connection in their traditional worship.
Moreover, all devotees, visitors and volunteers were also made aware of the government's emergency weather guidelines to help create enlightened citizens with greater social responsibility, along with spiritual and cultural harmony.
