Hey everyone! This is a simple and affordable makeup tutorial to obtain Major Kiera Nerys' makeup and nose ridges! It can be done for almost no cost aside from some regular makeup which you already have, some toilet paper, and some spirit gum! This makeup is not perfect, and probably won't win you any cosplay perfection awards, but it is fun to do and does the trick for parties and simple costumes!
I admire Major Kiera for her ferocity, sense of justice, toughness, and at the same time her gentleness and deep care for the people she trusts and loves. With her, it is hot or cold, and she does not back down from her beliefs.
I also LOVE that the writers did not over-sexualize these women. Major Kiera and Lieutenant Dax were both great characters and allowed to have romance without making their sexuality a major selling point of their character.
These powerful women gave us representation in the media and popular culture, and representation is important!! I hope we are able to include more women of color in this representation of women as well– like Cassidy Yates!
