Описание: The Battle of Rotterdam (Strijd om de Maasbruggen) happened during the German invasion of the Netherlands (Battle of the Netherlands) and initiated WW2 in the Netherlands. German paratroopers landed at airport Waalhaven and inside the city of Rotterdam to capture the New Meuse bridges. Dutch soldiers – among which soldiers of the Netherlands Marine Corps (Korps Mariniers) – rushed into action. A vicious battle took place that ended with the German bombing of Rotterdam and was the start of World War 2 in the Netherlands. It can be seen as a forgotten WW2 battle during the Second World War in Holland.
