Four Minute Mile

Описание: For his contribution to Cool Fusion, Martin Jones has focused on Roger Bannister's great British achievement in 1954 to be the first athlete to run a mile in under four minutes. Written for Lambeth Wind Orchestra, the piece portrays: the anticipation whipped up by newspapers and TV; the race itself; and Bannister's exhaustion, triumph and euphoria following his record-breaking win. The video presents two extracts from the music against archive footage of the race. The performances will be enhanced with a narrated script by Rita Adam and some special effects by Stuart Russell.
