Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has launched a national petition urging citizens to oppose EU funding for Ukraine as the country fights Russian aggression. Framing the upcoming April election as a choice between war and peace, Orban claims backing Ukraine could bring unwanted conflict and economic strain to Hungary.

The European Commission recently proposed a €90 billion aid package for Ukraine, but Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic insisted it should not affect them financially.
