We’ve all been there. We need a little help to get through a tough situation. It might be finances. It might be a shoulder to lean on or help with resources to make a bad situation better. At United Way of the Plains, we believe everyone should have that someone to help.

Our local office helps people through our 211 Information and Referral service. We have found that our community needs help with four critical areas – Financial Stability, Education, Basic Needs and Health – so we have staff dedicated towards moving the community forward in each of those areas.

We also value what other nonprofits do in our community. We help fund initiatives, provide resources for their offices and for their clients, and host meetings to continue community collaboration.

Together, we make south central Kansas a better place. But it doesn’t happen without you. Volunteering your time, enrolling in a payroll deduction plan or finding other ways to give of yourself strengthens our community. Even the smallest gesture can make the biggest of impacts. Last year, we managed to take every $1 in donation and get a 120% ROI. That’s $2.20 in impact!
