Brief on Iran's Nationwide Uprising November 21, 2022

Описание: As the nationwide uprising entered its 67th day, today, Monday, November 20, the military crackdown on the Kurdish population of major Iranian cities in the country’s west, as well as missile and drone strikes on Iranian Kurds in Iraq, signals a new chapter in the regime’s increasingly desperate attempts to prevent the uprising from spreading by escalating the unrest beyond Iran’s borders. A formula that might have worked for it in the past as it stoked conflict in the region to suppress dissent at home, but that may be futile as it nears the abyss.

The regime has intensified its repression, as protests in the Kurdish-majority cities and towns in western provinces of the country morph into an all-out rebellion, as whole districts of large cities and smaller towns fall under the control of protesters, and the country comes out in solidarity with their brethren in ethnic minority regions in the west and southeast,
Many cities in Iran were scenes of protests by people and students in support of the people of Mahabad and other Kurdish regions.

• Tehran, Andishe district – Protesters coordinated as a group and torched a base of the IRGC paramilitary Basij using Molotov cocktails.
• Tehran, Chitgar district – Protesters express national solidarity with Iranian compatriots in Kurdistan province, chanting: "Mahabad and Kurdistan are the pride of Iran!"
• Qods City (Ghale Hassan Khan), west of Tehran - Locals are establishing control over their streets with roadblocks on the 67th night of the nationwide uprising.
• Bandar Abbas, southern Iran - Protesters chanting: "Death to the dictator!"
• Mashhad, northeast Iran – A team of young protesters attacked an IRGC paramilitary Basij base using Molotov cocktails.
• Qazvin, northwest Iran - Protesters march against the regime and support their compatriots in Javanrud.
• Borazjan, southern Iran - People set ablaze at the office of the regime's local Majlis (parliament) representative who had joined the call for the execution of recently arrested protesters.
• Marvdasht, south-central Iran - Locals attending the funeral of Arman Emadi, a protester killed by the regime's security forces, began chanting: "We'all resist to the end!", "We fight & take back Iran!", "IRGC is our ISIS!"
• Miandoab, south-central Iran - Protesters set ablaze the regime's administrative buildings whose authorities were permanently closing the stores of merchants who have been on strike recently.
• Javanrud, western Iran – Huge protests took place despite a heavy crackdown with machine guns by the IRGC and Basij.
• Javanrud, western Iran - More footage with sounds of heavy gunfire as the regime's forces gunned down innocent and defenseless locals.
• Javanrud, western Iran - Footage of protesters standing their ground against the regime's oppressive security forces.
