Ranking Every Monster from Dragon Quest: Torneko's Great Adventure

Before Pokemon even existed, Taloon Torneko of Dragon Quest IV fame was already exploring Mystery Dungeons to search of treasure! After the events of the fourth game, Torneko and his wife & son leave Endor to fulfill Torneko's dream of becoming the greatest arms merchant in the world, and they locate the exclusive mystery dungeon in order to complete this goal.

Unlike with the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games, which only lower your level to 1 for some of the fiendishly difficult post-game dungeons, Torneko's game resets your level to 1 every time you re-enter any of the dungeons. This along with a smaller but more unique cast of monsters allows the enemies to stick out in my mind more vividly than the countless hordes of Pokemon foes in those games.

As such, I have a lot more to say about each and every one of the 32 monsters found in this SNES classic: some are near harmless, but others will make you want to chuck your SNES out of the window!

That's where this video comes in. I decided to rank every monster in the game depending on how I feel about them, their abilities and the effect it'll have on the portly merchant's quest.

Please note that this is not an objective list, it's based purely on my own opinions. Also understand that my reasonings are decided on each enemy in general: while there might be a ring or item that renders an enemy's most frustrating aspects obsolete, it's less likely to have a bearing on my standings if said item only has a small RNG chance of appearing.
