There are so many ways to create an ombre soap, but I really just wanted to try a column pour. Luckily, I was able to keep my soap batter fluid for the entire pour (using full water, not blending much, and soaping at room temperature helped). Most soapers cut the column pour horizontally, but I cut both horizontal and vertical bars out of my slab. I was hoping to get a few bars that had a smooth transition between the colors. Of the vertically cut bars, I had 2 that really looked smooth and became smoother after they cured a few days.

*** RECIPE ***
Olive Oil - 42%
Coconut Oil - 25%
Organic Sustainable Palm Oil - 15%
Sunflower Oil - High Oleic - 10%
Avocado Oil - 8%

For a Palm free recipe, I substitute Shea Butter (10%) and Cocoa Butter (5%) in place of the Palm Oil.

Superfat - 6%

Lye & Water - use a soap calculator like the one at Majestic Mtn Sage (http://goo.gl/7hH5Vw)
I used a 31% lye solution (water = 2.2 x lye)

COLORS:
I used Amy Warden’s method of dissolving indigo in oil. You can read her blog post here - http://goo.gl/Z3qUAB

I mixed 1 teaspoon of indigo powder into 1 tablespoon of sunflower oil and allowed that to sit for a few hours (actually overnight).

Essential Oil Blend:
Rosemary - 2 parts
Peppermint - 1 part
