Gnarly, rocky and very slippy in the wet - this is one hell of a MTB trail and one you don't want to crash on! Named "Big Baw" and around 5 minutes long, this "enduro" MTB trail is full of rock gardens, roots and jumpy sections. Found in the "Golfie", a famous forest in the Tweed Valley which is known for steep, technical trails. Also the home of many enduro mountain bike races.
A lot of MTB trails at Golfie are steep but this one makes a good use of the hillside with a very steady gradient all the way down. Half the trail feels like it's rock gardens! After hitting this trail I took a ride down a trail called Rayling (this one is pretty damn steep and tight) followed by riding Greg's Jollifes... which was slick as! I had just changed to new tyres and was very glad of them!!
Just a solo ride this one, no Wee Tam to chase today! He does also love Golfie so I'm sure we'll be filming more from this Tweed Valley hotspot again soon!
