Описание: Bryan Thao Worra is the first Lao American to receive a Fellowship in Literature from the National Endowment for the Arts. Since 2008 he has been the Creative Works Editor of the Journal of Southeast Asian American Education and Advancement. In 2012 he represented the nation of Laos at the Poetry Parnassus during the London Summer Olympics. From 2016-2022 he was president of the international Science Fiction and Fantasy Poetry Association. In 2018 he was appointed by the governor of Minnesota to the board of the Council on Asian Pacific Minnesotans and became chair in 2024. Born in Laos in 1973 he is one of the first Lao to arrive in America after the US Secret War during the Southeast Asian conflicts of the 20th century. One of the most widely-published Lao American writers in the world, he has over 20 awards for leadership and community service, and presented at the Smithsonian, the Library of Congress, Poets House, the Singapore Writers Festival and 70 other institutions. In October, 2024 he was inducted into the Saline Area Schools Hall of Fame. His most recent book is American Laodyssey (Sahtu Press, 2025).
