90 Wardour Street (Soho, London) was the most famous and definitive address of the historic Marquee Club. Occupying two buildings, its stage hosted all the great British rock bands from the mid-1960s onward, many of them performing there for the first time. In honor of the Marquee Club, "90 Wardour Street" (1985) was also the title of the first LP by the New Jersey band MOD FUN, from which we hear the B-side track, "We Got Tyme." They became very popular in the New York area, frequently playing at CBGB and other New York clubs, and are said to have served as an example to many young musicians, revitalizing the city's mod, garage punk and power pop scene.
